I've been accepted by my dream university!

Hello again!

I've previously spoken about the troubles I had last year with regards to University and moving away from home etc.
I also spoke about my make-up course.
However,
I recently did a work experience placement for a newspaper and absolutely loved it!

I did write a blog about my week there but for now I will just say that I went and looked around a University which I really wanted to go to and whilst visiting was offered a place on their journalism course!

This worked out perfectly considering the week I spent with the newspaper. It meant that I knew I'd enjoy the line of work as well as hopefully doing well on the course.
I won't say which Uni it is just yet but I'm sure many of you will find out and I will vlog while I'm there :) I will say that it is a London University so I will most likely be commuting from my family home. I do have plans to move to the University or the area should it become to much to travel each day.

I feel like Uni is a place where you get given so many opportunities to join clubs and meet people so I'm hoping to have lots of blog worthy experiences to show you guys.

So I am very excited for September now and I'll keep you updated!! Leave me a comment if you are going to/going through clearing for Uni this year and where youre going!
See you soon,

Work experience

Hello!
I normally keep blogs about make-up products I have found, make up courses etc.
However, I recently re-discovered through blogging, my love of writing.
I looked into it a lot after originally leaving university at the end of 2012 and finally realised I wanted to do something related. So I decided to look into journalism. I figured that Journalism included website work, blogging, reporting as well as writing for TV , Radio and in print.
I spontaneously went to the University of the Arts in London and ended up falling in love totally and was offered a place on their BA honours program.
In order to prepare myself for the degree and to make sure I didn't end up repeating last years mistakes I arranged a week of work experience.

My Dads friend amazingly offered me a full Monday - Friday of work in his newsroom at the paper he works for.
I drove 2.5 hours away from my home and stayed the week with my family nearby.
I absolutely loved my week there and it confirmed that I would like to pursue a career in journalism.
I interviewed people, wrote two of my own stories which were published in the Friday edition of the paper and was able to go out with the other journalists to shadow them.

I just wrote this blog in order to keep people updated but also to help others who may feel lost with what to do after school and if they are struggling , to show that there are so many options and everything will work out if you're willing to work hard. I don't know if anyone is interested in this but it's a good way of me to store my experiences if I ever want to look back :)

Enjoy,
Emma xxx
